They are expensive though, meaning it's tough to start a team with all four, and if you lose one to death or permanent injury it's going to hurt big time.
From the get-go they are able to take down big targets, they have the crucial block skill, and they boast a solid running game, able to reliably make hand-off plays with only a 1 in 9 chance of failure. At MA7 they have good speed, and even though catch, dauntless, and block are a quite unusual combination of starting skills, it does make them incredibly versatile. The Bretonnian blitzer is touted as the star player of the team, and while this was a bit of stretch under their former rules, it now very much holds true. It's crazy! If you're a serious min-maxer and these quirks make your eyeball twitch, maybe give them a miss. Their blockers have strength access but all start with wrestle. Their blitzers, the guys you want to be, ya know, blitzing with, have no strength access. Many people are quick to point out the strange synergy of the Bretonnians' skill access. They're a bit like humans in that they can bash weaker teams and outpace stronger ones, and they require a little finesse to use effectively. Bretonnia has a strong running game, relying on screening, tactical marking, and hand-off plays to score. Lastly, the numbers are made up by dirty peasants, easily replaceable, there to take punches, and far too lowly to ever be trusted with the ball. Their blockers, or squires, provide humble but effective support. Their blitzers, the questing knights, are the star players of the team, hogging the ball, scoring touchdowns and making the big hits for the highlight reel. I hope that this one, with the blitzer change taken into account, will in turn help others thinking of picking up Bretonnia and giving them a shot.īretonnians are a weird but satisfyingly thematic team.
